Walking in red rock canyons

Like to hike?  You can’t do much better than choosing Sedona, AZ as your base for a hiking destination.  Sedona presents amazing scenery and offers a choice of hiking in the desert, in canyons, or in pine-forested mountains.  There are over 100 hikes to choose from and a little shop, The Hike House, where they’ll help you narrow down the very best choices for you. We saw deer, a snake, birds, and flowers. The hikes we took had convenient parking at the trailheads.

The last time we were in a town that had this kind of well thought out infrastructure for hiking was Zermatt, Switzerland – and that may be too far to go for a good walk.
