If you’re going to have a 4th of July parade – do it right! The little town of Mendocino, CA did -with humor, creativity, plenty of color, and many participating groups. Isn’t that what we want in an Independence Day parade?
The truck with the dog pulled up and stopped. The crowd was excited to get such a good view. The dog’s mechanical back leg slowly lifted and – whoosh! – a light spray of water rained down on the crowd. The crowd shrieked in surprise and then roared with laughter.
Banners to ban offshore oil drilling were popular. Book fairies, from the local bookstore, handed out free books. Soldiers waved from floats. Antique cars slowly climbed the hill past the spectators, leaving behind the smell of burning clutches.
