We looked forward to another road trip — and this time, in a little rental (bright red!) Fiat 500. The plan? Enjoy the view as we sped down the highway to make lots of stops to visit friends and family. The photos tell the story.
OHIO – Yellow Springs. The town is filled with crafts, and we thought this was truly a work of art.
OHIO – Wilmington College. Autumn was the right time to see the magnificent trees on the campus.
PENNSYLVANIA – Chadds Ford. The titles of the paintings were almost as interesting as the artwork: “‘My dear,’ said General Washington, ‘Captain Prescott’s behavior was inexcusable.’” Howard Pyle, 1896. Look for it, and other wonderfully titled art, at the Brandywine River Museum of Art.
PENNSYLVANIA – New Hope. The Pineapple Hill Inn’s unique mantelpiece decoration (Yes, if you’re wondering, it is a piano.)
MARYLAND – Chestertown. A dock on the Chester River
MARYLAND – Chestertown. In the old town we ran into a familiar figure standing on the sidewalk, Donald Trump.
We left Chestertown on a warm, sunny day and pointed the little Fiat towards our next destination: Washington, DC. Time to turn in the Fiat and enjoy the capital city.
